Lord God, Creator of all, lover of all.
Who created all in your image – show us how to worship you in the way that we treat others, especially others who are marginalised by our culture.
When people are treated unfairly because of their gender, their age or ethnicity, may we be alert enough to notice, open enough to hear it, and strong enough to name it.
When people are treated unfairly because of their nationality, their religion, or their political beliefs, may we be aware enough to see it, humble enough to acknowledge it, and bold enough to challenge it.
When people are treated unfairly because of their financial status, their social standing, their perceived class division, may we be perceptive enough to identify this, especially when it happens under our nose, and able to respond appropriately.
Forgive us when we are the unwitting perpetrators of inequality, bigotry, and unfairness.
Forgive us when we boldly champion causes already won by previous generations, whilst ignoring the inequalities and injustices in our own day.
Forgive us when “virtue signalling” becomes more important than seeking justice.
Creator of all, lover of all, may we recognise the sanctity of all.
